Sustainability

Sustainability

We fundamentally believe that sustainability is vital for creating better environments and societies as well as conserving resources for future generations.  We also believe that a sustainable approach to business activities is both essential and beneficial in a wide variety of areas.

We are strong advocates of sustainable business strategies which help address the following areas:

  •  Climate change
  • Income inequality
  • Depletion of natural resources
  • Human rights issues
  • Fair working conditions
  • Pollution
  • Racial injustice
  • Gender inequality

As a recruitment partner, we make a positive impact by aligning business leaders and businesses with similar ESG goals; presenting diverse shortlists; advising on compensation within the marketplace; and supporting organisations who can significantly benefit the above areas.

Office:

As part of our commitment to combatting climate change, offices are responsible for 41% of the world’s energy use, we are based in a newly designed, energy-efficient smart building which uses sustainable energy and incorporates energy-efficient materials, insulation, energy-efficient HVAC, lighting and building management systems.

Our office location also offers a variety of sustainable transportation options including walking, cycling and multiple public transport options (boat, tube, rail and bus).

The office, and our operating model, incorporate flexible workspaces and hybrid working which reduce transport emissions and are environmentally efficient.

Website hosting:

The internet is one of the most carbon-polluting industries on the planet, consuming an estimated 416.2TWh of energy per year – more than the entire United Kingdom! (Source: Website Carbon).

Our website is hosted using energy generated by 100% renewable sources.  Powered by Ecotricity, the first company in the UK to offer true 100% renewable energy, the data centre used has a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) rating of 1.05.  PUE stands for Power Usage Effectiveness and is the ratio of the total amount of energy used by a datacentre to the energy delivered to computing equipment. The closer to 1 the better. A PUE of just 1.05 means that for every watt of energy spent only 5% is used on building infrastructure like power and cooling, with the rest reaching the servers.

We are also committed to sustainable business practices including:

  • Our duty of care as a responsible employer.
  • Our commitment to using sustainable transportation (walking, push bikes, e-bikes, electric vehicles and public transport).
  • Our engagement with sustainable and ethical supply chains (even using eco-friendly products such as Wave phone covers and Ocean water bottles).
  • Our ongoing commitment to a paper-free working environment.
